Day 6: Preto- Fancy Brazilian BBQ

A parade of lamb, pork, sausage, fish, and beef. Wonderfully spiced chicken floating past your table as you stare with longing in your heart. If you have the money, and if you have the time, you can never go wrong with Brazilian BBQ. My reader who have ever been to Fogo de Chao, this restaurant is very similar. For those who haven’t, Preto serves fancy, Brazilian-style food. The meats are brought to you on large skewers fresh off the grill and your take shaves of it like shawarma with small tongs. There is a buffet as well that has classic dishes like fried plantains, pasta salads, and rice and feijoada.

Food:
This food is good, don’t get me wrong, but it's important here to be specific. The buffet part of the experience was the best part by far. Their fried plantains had the perfect kick of sweetness, the beans were hearty and satisfying and the rice was well done. The highlight was definitely the Pão de Queijo which is a chewy cheese-flavored puff (kind of like a mix of mochi and a dinner roll) and is the best thing I've ever eaten. But the meat, which is the star of the show, was fatty and overall not enjoyable.
Accessibility:
We ended up eating downstairs, but there are tables and a bar upstairs on the main floor, as well as the bathrooms.
Service:
I arrived very late (I mean VERY late) to my reservation. The rest of my group was already there and eating, but the staff did a really good job of making me feel cared for and satisfied. One in particular kept checking in and showing me meat even when my whole very large group was leaving. Very good experience overall.
A Picture of Pão de queijo. I would sell my soul to the devil for an infinite supply of these buns.
